High-Security Fencing
Anti-Climb & Anti-Cut
358 welded security mesh and heavy-gauge systems engineered so a perimeter cannot be climbed or cut. NMI Fence supplies complete high-security fence lines for utilities, government, and critical infrastructure.
A Perimeter That Cannot Be Climbed or Cut
When standard chain link is not enough, high-security fencing changes the geometry of the barrier itself. Small-aperture 358 mesh removes the hand and foot holds a climber needs and resists cutting with common tools, while heavy-gauge framework and extensions raise the effort required to breach the line.
NMI Fence supplies the complete high-security system and can pair it with anti-ram vehicle barriers and access control for a complete perimeter security solution.

358 Anti-Climb Mesh
Small-aperture welded mesh (3" x 0.5" openings, 8-gauge wire) that gives no finger or toe hold and resists cutting with standard hand tools. The global standard for high-security perimeters.
Heavy-Gauge Chain Link
9-gauge or heavier fabric on Schedule 40 framework with 1-7/8" to 4" posts set 36–48 inches deep. Built for 8, 10, and 12 ft industrial and high-security runs.
Razor & Barbed Extensions
Concertina razor wire and barbed wire on outrigger arms add 1–3 feet of deterrent above the fence line. Single, double, and triple coil configurations available.
Detention-Grade Panels
Correctional welded mesh with tight spacing that prevents toe-hold climbing and cutting, ready to integrate with detection, CCTV brackets, and controlled-access gates.

Anti-climb protection for the perimeters that matter most.
Utilities & Substations
Electrical substations, water treatment, and power infrastructure.
Telecommunications
Cell sites, switching stations, and data facilities.
Correctional & Detention
Secure perimeters, sally ports, and detention yards.
Government & Military
Federal buildings, bases, and secure compounds.
Industrial & Logistics
Warehouses, rail yards, ports, and storage facilities.
Critical Infrastructure

Engineered for the Full Line
High-security mesh holds its integrity across long industrial and transportation perimeters — rail corridors, utility yards, and airfields — where a single weak span defeats the whole fence.
NMI supplies matched mesh, framework, and gate hardware so every span goes in to the same spec.
High-Security Fencing Questions
Common questions about 358 mesh, anti-climb construction, and secure perimeters.
What is 358 anti-climb mesh?
The "358" refers to the mesh dimensions: 3" x 0.5" apertures with 8-gauge wire. The small, narrow openings prevent fingers and toes from gaining purchase, making the mesh virtually impossible to climb without equipment. It also resists cutting with standard hand tools, which is why 358 is the global standard for high-security perimeter fencing.
How tall is high-security fencing?
Most high-security fencing starts at 8 feet. Critical infrastructure, correctional, and high-threat sites typically use 10–12 foot fencing, with razor or barbed wire extensions adding another 1–3 feet. Always confirm local zoning limits on fence height before specifying.
Is anti-climb fencing the same as detention fencing?
They overlap. Anti-climb fencing uses mesh or panel geometry that eliminates hand and foot holds. Detention-grade fencing adds anti-cut construction and integrates with electronic detection and controlled-access gates for correctional and maximum-security use.
Can barbed or razor wire be added?
Yes. Barbed and razor wire mount on outrigger arms above the fence line and add 1–3 feet of deterrent. Note that many municipalities regulate or restrict these, so verify local ordinances — industrial zones typically allow barbed wire above 7 feet, and razor wire may require a permit.
Does NMI supply the full system?
Yes. NMI Fence supplies the mesh or fabric, framework, extensions, and gate hardware at wholesale pricing for your installer, and can spec a complete perimeter with anti-ram barriers and access control.
